HE Premier Lays Foundation Stone of Umm Al Haul Power Plant
Doha, March – HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani laid on Thursday the foundation stone for Umm Al Haul Power Plant of Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) during a ceremony held in Umm Al Haul, south of the country.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, Ambassadors accredited to the state and guests of the country. The ceremony began by recitation of verses of the Holy Quran. Then a documentary films was screened about Umm Al Haul area and another about the plant.
After that, HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister inaugurated the project by laying the foundation stone and toured the project during which he was briefed on what has been accomplished in the plant, which is one of the largest eco-friendly desalination and power plants.
