His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received, yesterday at Lusail Palace, His Excellency Mr. Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the friendly United States of America, who is currently visiting the country.
During the interview, relations between the two friendly countries were reviewed, and ways to develop them in various fields, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common interest, especially developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories and the repercussions of the humanitarian situation there.
During the interview, His Highness the Emir stressed the importance of making efforts to reduce the escalation, opening safe corridors in the Gaza Strip for relief and humanitarian efforts, and ensuring that violence does not expand regionally. His Highness also stressed the State of Qatar’s firm position on condemning the targeting of civilians.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
