H H the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his brother, President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, held an official session of talks at the Federal Palace in Cairo this afternoon.
At the beginning of the session, the Egyptian President welcomed HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation, wishing HH a pleasant stay. HH the Emir also expressed his congratulations to HH the Emir of the country on the occasion of HH the Emir’s accession to the throne, praising the development and civilizational achievements made by the State of Qatar during the reign of HH in various fields, calling May God Almighty bless His Highness with good health and the Qatari people further development and growth, according to the Emiri Diwan.
The Egyptian President also stressed that His Highness’ visit is an important step in developing bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
For his part, His Highness the Amir thanked the President for the warm reception and hospitality, looking forward to strengthening cooperation relations in a way that achieves common aspirations and is in the interest of the two brotherly countries and peoples and develops them to broader horizons at various levels.
During the session, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields, especially in the fields of investment, energy, defense, culture and sports. His Highness the Amir and His Excellency the President discussed a number of current issues on the regional and international arenas, and exchanged views on them, especially the developments in the Middle East.
The session was attended by His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the personal representative of the Emir, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Emiri Court, and His Excellency Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance.
On the Egyptian side, it was attended by H.E. Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, and H.E. Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development.
His Highness the Emir and the Egyptian President had held a bilateral meeting in which they discussed aspects of supporting and developing the strong brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries and all issues of common concern.
