His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, with His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, held an official session of talks at the Emiri Diwan yesterday morning.
At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Emir welcomed His Excellency the President of Nigeria and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay, and that bilateral relations between the two countries further development and growth. His Highness hopes that this visit would contribute to enhancing and strengthening cooperation between Qatar and Nigeria in various fields in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly peoples to the highest levels. Welcome.
For his part, His Excellency the President of Nigeria expressed his thanks to His Highness the Emir for the warm reception and generous hospitality, hoping that this visit would advance the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, allowing the two countries to invest their economy potential to enhance bilateral cooperation between them.
During the session, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop and enhance them in trade, economy, investment, energy and education were discussed, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international issues and developments, especially the developments of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the war on Gaza.
The session was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Misnad, Advisor to His Highness the Amir for National Security, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Kuwari, Minister of Finance, His Excellency Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, and His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of Finance. State Energy Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Trade and Industry, and a number of senior officials.
It was also attended from the Nigerian side by His Excellency Mr. Yusuf Maitama Togar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Wally Edun, Minister of Finance, His Excellency Mr. Dele Alki, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, His Excellency Professor Muhammad Ali Bati, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Doris A. Uzoka Anite, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, and a number of members of the official delegation.
His Highness the Emir and His Excellency the Nigerian President also held a bilateral meeting, during which they discussed a number of issues and topics on the regional and international arena of mutual interest.
His Highness the Emir hosted a luncheon in honor of His Excellency the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and his accompanying delegation.
An official reception ceremony was held for His Excellency the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria upon his arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
