His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed with His Excellency Dr. Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of the friendly Kingdom of Spain, regional and international developments, especially related to developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
This came during a telephone call received by His Highness the Emir yesterday from the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain.
During the call, the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries were reviewed.
His Excellency Dr. Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, appreciated the mediation role played by the State of Qatar in order to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing Spain’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace in the region.
The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain said in a post on the “ X ” platform that he made a phone call with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, during which he expressed his sincere appreciation for the mediation role played by the State of Qatar in order to reach a ceasefire. fire and free the Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
He added, “I also shared with His Highness the Emir my concern regarding a possible Israeli operation in Rafah,” stressing that Spain is committed to supporting efforts aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace in the region, through a two-state solution and mutual recognition.
