His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met yesterday morning with His Excellency Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the friendly Federal Republic of Germany, at the Bellevue Presidential Palace in the capital, Berlin.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the German President welcomed His Highness the Emir and the accompanying delegation, expressing his thanks to His Highness for accepting the invitation and visiting Germany, praising this visit and the relations between the two countries, which are based on the foundations of friendship, cooperation, mutual respect and common interests, and wishing His Highness a good stay in Germany.
For his part, His Highness the Emir expressed his appreciation to His Excellency the German President for his generous hospitality and warm reception, praising the friendly relations between the two countries, and looking forward to this visit contributing to opening new horizons of cooperation in all fields . His Highness also expressed his wishes for good health and happiness to His Excellency and to his friendly country for further progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the cooperation relations between the two friendly countries were reviewed, and aspects of their development and advancement at various levels, in addition to discussing the current regional and international situations.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Sharida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Commerce. industry, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Emir.
The meeting was also attended from the German side by His Excellency Dr. Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ambassador Wolfgang Zilberman, Head of the Foreign Policy Department in the Office of the Federal President, Her Excellency Ms. Kerstin Gamelin, the official spokesperson for the Federal President, Her Excellency Ms. Daniela Lerner from the Personal Office of the Federal President, and Ms. Tjalkii Lenski is an advisor in the Foreign Policy Department of the Federal President’s Office.
