Doha, November 13 (QNA) – The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has participated in the Cities of the Future Forum, which was held in the framework of the the World Wide Web Summit, hosted by the Portuguese capital of Lisbon in the presence of international political figures, managers, decision-makers and leading companies in the field of technology.
On the sidelines of the Forum, the Qatari delegation headed by Engineer Fahad Al-Qahtani, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment met with Chairman of Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP), Miguel Frasquilho, Director for Urban and Territorial Development, Disaster Risk Management, and Resilience of the World Bank’s Social, Rural, Urban and Resilience Global Practice (GSURR), Sameh Wahba, along with a number of officials of the Municipality of Lisbon.
Talks during the meetings dealt with a number of topics listed on the agenda of the Forum.
The Qatari delegation participated in several seminars and panel discussions on “Smart Cities” as well as the integration of politics, technology and the future of societies in order to transform cities and make them more efficient. (QNA)
