The International Astronomy Council stated that Australia has set Saturday as the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to its astronomical calculations.

Today, Wednesday, the Australian Fatwa Council announced, in a tweet on its Twitter account, that next Saturday, April 22, will be Eid al-Fitr in Australia.
The council stated that, “due to the confirmation of astronomical calculations, it is not possible to see the crescent on Thursday evening.”
