Qatar Chamber’s Health Committee recently held a meeting to discuss a range of topics related to the private health sector, as well as the challenges facing this sector, it was announced in a statement yesterday
The meeting, presided over by Qatar Chamber board member and committee chairperson Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani, also focused on the authorities concerned for appropriate solutions.
During the meeting, committee members lauded the Permanent Licensing Committee at the Ministry of Public Health for its co-operation, and the efforts made to improve the business environment in Qatar’s health sector.
Al-Ahmadani said the private sector plays a key role in the development process, noting that the Qatar National Vision 2030 has given the private sector “special importance” as one of the pillars of the national strategy for economic diversification. She also noted that private sector investments in the health sector would help mitigate the burden on governmental health institutions.
The Qatar Chamber official also lauded the support of the state and the facilities provided to the sector, citing the newly-issued laws that encourage local and foreign investors to invest in private hospitals. Al-Ahmadani said the next committee meeting will focus on discussing a range of topics that contribute to improving the business environment, including recruitment and facilitation of licensing procedures.
