Qatar University has climbed 56 positions to 276th place in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings for world universities in 2020, becoming one of the most improved universities in the 2019 rankings.
Qatar University President Dr Hassan Rashid al Derham said the university has made an amazing leap in the university rankings. “Everyone is proud because it reflects the success of the university’s policies and strategy.”
He stressed the university’s commitment to its leadership role in higher education in the country and its enlightenment role in the local community, by providing the highest level of opportunities for students, faculty and society.
Derham pointed out that in 2017, Qatar University launched a five-year strategy for the period 2018-2022, which defined ways to achieve continuous excellence in performance in the main areas of education, research, institution and participation, taking into account the plans and aspirations of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Qatar University Dr Darwish al Emadi said Qatar University is very proud of the high position in the QS rankings, which reaffirms Qatar University as a leading national university model in education striving to achieve educational
excellence.
