To take part or not in CHI Al Shaqab 2016 was a big question Qatar’s ace rider Ali al Rumaihi faced. But on the insistence of his trainer Ian Thorpe, Rumaihi is now all buckled up to strut his stuff at the high profile four-day CHI Al Shaqab 2016 event to be held at the fabulous Al Shaqab Arena from March 2 to 5.

For someone who took to the sport at the age of six, seeing his father ride and breed horses, the 34-year-old Rumaihi from Doha is now an accomplished champion having won at the 2006 Asian Games (with Nagano) and clinched the individual gold and team silver (with Ravenna 323) at the 2011 Pan Arab Games. He is also Qatar’s big hope at the forthcoming Olympics alongside Show Jumper Sheikh Ali al Thani.

On the road until now and ahead to Rio for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, Rumaihi was happy about his and horse’s progress and hoped for a smooth ride till the Games in August.
