The ongoing summer camp by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education yesterday entered the final phase after giving thousands of students tips to grow as ideal citizens.
A total of 5,800 students continued to take part in sport, cultural, artistic and scientific activities at 14 camps across Qatar during the last week.
A valedictory session will today mark the formal conclusion of the camp for boys while the camp for girls will come to an end tomorrow. The ceremony will be held at Ali bin Hamad al-Attiyah Hall at Al Sadd Club, a tweet by the ministry said. Khamis Mubarak al-Mohannadi, director of summer camp at Al Khor Club, said the camp has provided participants with a variety of activities and they could take benefit from the programmes. Seven separate camps are held for boys and girls.
The third edition of the summer camp, launched on July 14 is a part of Qatar’s efforts to help the student community benefit from summer vacation by participating in useful activities. The camp features training sessions by trainers and field experts. The activities mainly focus on five areas: science, technology, engineering, mathematics and arts and skills. A number of workshops helped participants develop their skills and passion towards research.
The sport activities in the camp include training in basketball, handball, badminton and judo. Besides, students participated in workshops in arts and design, pottery, decorating baskets, making hoops, making dolls, fashion designing and abhaya designing, cooking, cinematography and journalism.
