During the ceremony, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior honored the graduates of civil universities from various disciplines, who numbered 45 graduates from officer candidates at the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya”.
After the honoring, His Excellency toured the virtual shooting range, during which he listened to a brief explanation of the various open and closed fields.
On this occasion, His Excellency said in a tweet via Twitter: “I congratulate the graduates of the qualifying course of officers’ candidates for their successful graduation, and their fulfillment of the requirements to join our security sector, in which we are proud of the role of all its citizens in promoting and maintaining security and under the wise leadership of His Highness the Emir.”
His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior also witnessed the graduation ceremony of the last batch of 2022 police students, who numbered 200 out of 1200 students, at the Police College. The two ceremonies were attended by a number of senior officers, directors of departments at the Ministry of Interior, members of the Supreme Council of the Police College, faculty members and parents of graduates.

* Stages of the qualification course
The course was implemented in several stages, starting with the first stage (the renewal stage) for 5 weeks and included the military training program, in which the candidates spent 132 training hours, including training on infantry without weapons, infantry with weapons, training on the M16 rifle, and training on a pistol Glock, rifle shooting and pistol shooting. As for the sports training program, it included 73 training hours, including 29 hours of physical fitness and 44 hours of self-defense training.
The second phase (the phase of completing military training) began on the second of last April and ended on the 26th of the same month. The military training program included 57 training hours. The second phase also included a two-week foundational operations course in which the candidates received training in instinctive shooting, tactical shooting, and undercover shooting. Pressure, shooting through cars, fighting in built-up areas, descending from towers, arresting and controlling, closing and inspection points, transporting and securing prisoners, command of operations, and the number of hours of sports training was 19 hours.
The third phase was devoted to completing military and sports training for a period of 3 weeks, which began on June 4 and until the end of the phase, with a total of 53 hours of military training and 23 hours of sports training. The training phases ended with the academic phase and lasted for 6 weeks, and included lectures on investigation, criminal research, the Qatari Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Police Administration, the Legal Calendar and the Military Service Law.

* The first batch

His Excellency stressed that the Ministry of Interior is very keen to achieve the best rates of outstanding security performance and combat crime in all its forms, which made Qatar the first in the Middle East and North Africa in terms of security and safety in the Global Peace Index for several consecutive years, and praised the level of graduates of the Police College and their ability to Engaging in security work with fellow officers in the various departments of the Ministry.

* Maintaining security

* Training programs
For his part, Brigadier General Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, Director General of the Police College, said: The college harnessed its capabilities and facilities in order to graduate competent officers, and the Ministry of Interior and its leadership spared no effort in supporting the college in order to achieve its mission, and to go on the path of its goal, noting that The number of officers enrolled in the inevitable seventh qualification course for graduates of civil universities has reached (45) officers, distributed among some departments in the ministry and the Lekhwiya force.
Lt. Col. Fahd Saeed Al-Subaie, Director of the Training Department at the Police College, stressed the importance of this course, as it adds the military security aspect to the sciences and disciplines received by the course’s participants in civilian universities. He praised the high level of discipline of the course’s employees, and the excellence they showed during the course, stressing that their desire to obtain the highest benefit from the course contributed positively to their performance in all the training programs that were implemented, and that the will and determination with which they distinguished facilitated the task of the officers and trainers supervising the session.
