The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported, at dawn on Saturday, the recovery of a martyr and the injury of about 3 Palestinians after the occupation aircraft bombed a residential apartment in the vicinity of the Candle Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
Our correspondent said that, in conjunction with the artillery shelling that targeted the Zeitoun neighborhood, a number of Palestinians were injured when the occupation aircraft bombed a house in the vicinity of the Omari Mosque, east of Gaza City.
In a related context, a martyr was killed and several others were injured when the occupation aircraft bombed a residential apartment in the “Al-Zubda” building in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City.
For the 79th day, the occupation forces continue to forcibly disrupt the work of civil defense in the northern Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli aggression, and thousands of citizens there are now without humanitarian and medical care.
The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported that a number of firefighting and rescue vehicles were stopped in the governorates of Gaza, the Middle, and Khan Yunis due to the lack of maintenance parts and equipment needed to repair and operate them.
In the southern Gaza Strip, artillery shelling and heavy gunfire from Israeli vehicles targeted civilians in the northwest of Rafah city.

“Government Media” calls on the international community and UN organizations to support efforts to count martyrs
The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip expressed its deep concern over the results of the British study published in The Lancet, which indicates that the number of “deaths” (martyrs) resulting from violent injuries in the Gaza Strip between October 7, 2023 and June 30, 2024 has reached 64,260 cases.
The office added that this number is significantly higher than the number announced by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which only announces the number of martyrs who arrive at hospitals. This also reflects the extent of the catastrophe carried out by the Israeli occupation “army” against civilians, sectors and civilian facilities in the Gaza Strip.
The statement explained that the continued killing, siege, targeting of medical personnel, destruction of hospitals, and prevention of the work of civil defense teams are hindering efforts to recover and bury thousands of bodies, which makes the statistics provided reflect a limited part of the bitter reality experienced by the Palestinian people.
The Government Media Office also called on the international community, the United Nations, and various international institutions and organizations to provide the necessary support to help record the real number of martyrs, which is much higher than what is announced, as the British study concluded. We also call on them to work to enable rescue and civil defense teams to reach the areas affected and damaged by the Israeli aggression to retrieve the bodies and ensure their burial with dignity, in line with the heavenly religions and international humanitarian standards.
The occupation completely wiped out 1,600 Palestinian families
In turn, a report issued by the government media office in the Gaza Strip stated that the Israeli occupation “army” had exterminated 1,600 Palestinian families and removed them from the civil registry by killing all of their members during the ongoing genocide in the Strip for 15 months.
According to the report, which was published yesterday, Friday, quoting the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 5,612 Palestinians from these families were killed. The report also indicated that the occupation wiped out another 3,471 families, leaving only one person alive, bringing the number of martyrs in these families to more than 9,000.
The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023 has risen to 46,006 martyrs, in addition to 109,378 wounded with varying injuries, including serious and very serious, according to the latest update of the daily report issued by the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.
