His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and His Excellency President Yoon Suk-yeol, President of the friendly Republic of Korea, held an official discussion session at the Emiri Diwan yesterday morning.
At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Emir welcomed His Excellency the Korean President and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay. His Highness looked forward to this visit contributing to consolidating relations of cooperation and partnership in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly countries. In this regard, His Highness stressed his keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The two countries, especially with the approaching fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which the two countries will celebrate next year, wishing the Qatari-Korean relations further development and growth.
For his part, His Excellency the Korean President expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Emir for the warm reception and generous hospitality, stressing his keenness to develop cooperation relations between the two countries and push them to broader horizons in multiple fields, and to enhance cooperation between the two countries at the regional and international levels.
During the session, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and ways to support and develop them in various fields of cooperation, especially in the fields of energy, investment and culture, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments of common interest.
The session was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Municipality, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Trade and Industry, and His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Culture, His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a number of Their Excellencies senior officials.
The session was attended from the Korean side by His Excellency Mr. Park Jin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Chung Hwang-kun, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Bang Moon-kyu, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, His Excellency Mr. Won Hee-ryong, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and a number of Their Excellencies members The official delegation accompanying His Excellency the President.
His Highness the Emir and His Excellency the Korean President also held a bilateral meeting, during which they discussed a number of topics of common interest.
His Highness the Emir held a luncheon in honor of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Korea and his accompanying delegation.
Earlier, an official reception ceremony was held for His Excellency the Korean President upon his arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
