Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) recently recognised more than 1,200 employees at its annual Long Service Award ceremony.
The Long Service Award recognises employees for their valuable contribution to the company over many years of continuous service, Qatargas said in a statement.
Commenting on the Long Service Awards, Qatargas CEO Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani said: “The Long Service Award recognises the long-term contribution of Qatargas employees and the crucial role they play in the success of the company.
“Their commitment enables Qatargas to reliably supply LNG to our global customer portfolio, and reinforce our position in the market as the World’s premier LNG company.”
Qatargas offers employees the opportunity to be involved “in making history happen”, the statement noted. The company operates 14 liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains with a production capacity of 77mn tonnes per annum (mtpa), with work under way to increase the annual production to 110mtpa.
To safely achieve business objectives, Qatargas has developed a structured programme to train, recognise, acknowledge and reward the accomplishments of its employees. Attracting, developing, motivating and retaining a high-calibre, diverse workforce forms the basis of the company’s human capital strategy, the statement adds.
Qatargas uses its diverse workforce, as a source of strength and leverages the knowledge and expertise of its workforce and shareholders. In particular, Qatargas stressed that it is committed to developing its national workforce with its Qatarisation development plan, which prepares national employees with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in key roles in the company.
