A group of health educators and volunteers from Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) trained more than 200 people on first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during the 3rd Health and Wellness Fair, held at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) yesterday.
The event, which provided a section for QRCS, brought together students, faculty, and staff of various universities in Education City, teaching them on how to improve their health practices. Visitors received health education printouts, which included tips on how to apply first aid for sports injuries and emergencies, as well as home safety practices.
The event also showcased a Workers’ Health Centre models, managed by QRCS under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).  The facilities provide top-quality medical outpatient, dressing, and referral services for male expatriate workers, in a manner that ensures the satisfaction of both clients and staff.
Dr Ahmed Idlibi, head of Health Education at QRCS, said: “As an auxiliary to the State of Qatar in its humanitarian and social efforts, QRCS is committed to supporting MoPH in raising health awareness among society members to live healthy, safe, and active”.
“This event is a good opportunity to have access to the campus, with interactive health education and first-aid training for the students, faculty members, and administrative staff,” he added. “We are all partners who work together towards sustainable health development in Qatar”.
