ROTA Hosts Community Iftar In Al Khor

Qatar (WQ) – Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) recently hosted an Iftar for construction workers living in Al Khor as part of its Ramadan 2016 Project.

The Iftar, sponsored by Occidental Petroleum Corporation (OXY), was delivered to the construction workers by 15 ROTA volunteers taking part in a number of community outreach initiatives throughout Ramadan.

“Through our Ramadan 2016 Project, ROTA aims to provide engaging and educational community service opportunities to volunteers, which will enable individuals to contribute to the development of communities in Qatar. In addition, the programme aims to develop and strengthen relationships with community-based partners by implementing beneficial activities,” said Mohammed Saleh, Director of National Programs, ROTA.

ROTA hosts iftar for workers

“This is a time to say thank you and show these workers how important they are; to let them know that without their hard work, we would never reach our goals. I hope we have helped to deliver the message of how important we all are to each other as human beings,” said Ahmed Allanjawi, ROTA volunteer.

ROTA is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).

ROTA’s Ramadan 2016 Project aims to support the Human Development and Social Development Pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030. ROTA aims to achieve this by equipping Qatari youth with the skills to make valuable contributions to society, and developing a spirit of tolerance, constructive dialogue and openness.
