Since the beginning of the crisis, the State of Qatar has announced the allocation of 10,000 mobile homes to shelter the victims of the earthquake, which are cabins and mobile homes (caravans) that were used in fan villages during the 2022 World Cup. .

Turkey is currently in dire need to find housing after the earthquake destroyed thousands of buildings and caused damage to tens of thousands of buildings that require major restoration work to make them habitable. For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised Qatar’s allocation of 10,000 mobile homes for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Erdogan said in a speech during his tour of the afflicted in the state of Sanliurfa, that these houses will contribute to sheltering many families.

In the same context, in the Turkish province of Osmaniye, construction of a container city dedicated to the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the south of the country began on a total area of ​​120,000 square meters.

The containers equipped to house the afflicted will be transported to the region after the completion of the infrastructure works, and 1,367 containers will be installed there in the first phase, each of which has an area of ​​21 square meters and is equipped with basic facilities such as toilets, showers, and heating devices.

It is noteworthy that at dawn on February 6, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by another hours later with a magnitude of 7.6 and hundreds of violent aftershocks, which left huge losses of lives and property in both countries.
