His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that the launch of the sixth strategic dialogue between the State of Qatar and the United States of America represents a milestone in the historical partnership between them, valuing the diverse range of areas in which the two countries cooperate, including Defense, regional stability and business.

In his speech yesterday before the opening session of the sixth Qatari-American Strategic Dialogue in Washington, DC, His Excellency said: Qatar does not consider the United States only a close ally, but also a partner and friend, and we are pleased that this relationship will bring mutual benefit to our two peoples, adding: “Since During our last dialogue, we faced unprecedented challenges and crises that were a test for us, and some of them, unfortunately, are ongoing. However, our joint contacts, which are based on trust, transparency, and communication regarding these conflicts, were a major factor in creating a cohesive front and achieving positive results.”

His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs added: “Recently, in Gaza, we worked tirelessly with our friends in the United States and other international partners to put an end to the war, and we agree on the need to stop this war, release all hostages, and allow the delivery of vital humanitarian aid, and we hope that Reaching a permanent ceasefire that puts an end to the bloodshed once and for all.”

His Excellency stressed that the economic relations between the two countries are getting stronger with the noticeable increase in bilateral trade, pointing out that the United States remains a major trading partner and direct foreign investor in the State of Qatar.

His Excellency explained that this year’s dialogue includes new sessions to emphasize the changing landscape of global challenges and cooperation, including emerging technology, strategic policy planning, and strategic communications. Adding: With the United States participating in hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico, we are also honored to share our experiences and exchange ideas about the World Cup, especially regarding creating a safe and inclusive environment for local and foreign fans.

His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his confidence that the launch of the Sixth Strategic Dialogue will produce tangible positive results for the two friendly countries, expressing his thanks to all participants for their efforts in preparing for this dialogue. On the other hand, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani said Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs: “We hope to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip before the advent of the month of Ramadan.” His Excellency added in statements to Al Jazeera from the American capital, Washington, on the sidelines of the sixth strategic dialogue between Qatar and the United States: “I discussed with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken Ceasefire efforts in Gaza and the release of hostages.” His Excellency continued: “There are talks in Cairo and we cannot say that a final agreement has been reached between Hamas and Israel.” His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs warned against exploiting the issue of aid to the Gaza Strip for political blackmail by Israel. His Excellency said: “Israel has been pressured to bring aid into northern Gaza.”
